We are delighted to announce that the Southampton City Council Heritage Assets Repair Programme (HARP) has been awarded Highly Commended in the Heritage Category at the prestigious RICS Awards.
This recognition celebrates a comprehensive, multi-phase programme of specialist conservation works delivered across Southampton’s extraordinary collection of ancient monuments and listed structures. Focusing on securing the long-term future of the city’s historic fabric, the project has encompassed targeted masonry repairs, structural stabilisations, and breathable mortar remediation across medieval walls, towers, vaults, and civic landmarks, including the Bargate.
Working in close collaboration with Southampton City Council, AtkinsRéalis and the specialist contractor team, our role centred on delivering detailed condition surveys, prioritising interventions, and administering conservation led repairs that respect the significance of each asset.
The RICS Awards recognise outstanding achievement, craftsmanship, and collaboration in the built environment. To receive a Highly Commended accolade in the Heritage Category highlights the importance of proactive conservation management and the dedication required to safeguard vulnerable historic fabric for public benefit and future generations.
We would like to extend our congratulations to Southampton City Council, our fellow consultants, and the skilled specialist contractors whose craft and care made this outcome possible.
