New Barn Cottage Completed
We are delighted to have recently achieved completion for our off-grid restoration project in the Seven Sisters Country Park, on behalf of the South Downs National Park Authority.
Believed to date back to the 1800s when it was built as a pair of farm cottages, the property was later combined into a single home, becoming vacant in 2021. The threefold project included structural repairs due to roof spread, installation of new off-grid services to provide heating, lighting and power consistently and reliably for the first time ever, and a refurbishment and remodel to bring the property up to a modern habitable standard.
The project includes photovoltaic panels on the roof, battery storage (with backup system) and a biomass powered heating system, set in a picturesque position within a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The property is part of the South Downs National Park Authority estate and brings a formerly derelict property back into the housing supply, ready for new tenants.
